Stage 9: TRABERG - WAXENBERG

We start above the church in Traberg. We head left along the cemetery wall towards Schallenberg. 

After an ascent of around 1 km, the path joins the 3-Burgen-Weg at a right angle. This leads along a forest track to Kleintraberger and Oberwaldschlag. 

In Oberwaldschlag, we cross the Schallenberger Landesstraße. 

We walk down the village road for about 400 metres and turn right onto a footpath, which we follow for 1 km. Here we join footpath 147, which we follow as far as Waxenberg .

The imposing hilltop castle is the village’s striking landmark.
