Accessibility statement

The Mühlviertel Tourism Association endeavours to ensure that its websites and mobile applications comply with the Provincial Law on the Prohibition of Discrimination on the Basis of Ethnicity, Religion, Belief, Disability, Age, Gender or Sexual Orientation (Upper Austrian Anti-Discrimination Act – Oö. ADG) (§ 15b) and the Ordinance on Requirements for Accessible Websites and
mobile applications in the area of the Upper Austrian ADG (Upper Austrian WEBVO 2020) to implement Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council to make them accessible.

This accessibility statement applies to the following websites and mobile applications: www.muehlviertel.at, www.rennradhuegelwelt.at,www.johannesweg.at,www.stoakraftweg.at, www.wilheringerweg.at.

1. Information on operation and accessibility

a) Access keys

To facilitate page navigation, we have incorporated access keys to the important page areas on all pages. To avoid conflicts with existing operating system shortcuts, the number keys have been assigned to these functions. The following access keys are available:

0 to the home page
1 to navigation
2 to content
3 to contact
4 to the sitemap
5 to search
6 to the top of the page
7 to the imprint
8 to the position display

Depending on your browser and operating system, use the key listed above in combination with a special control key:

Internet Explorer: Alt + [key]

Firefox: Alt + Shift key (Windows and Linux) or Ctrl (Mac) + [key]

Google Chrome: Alt (Windows), Ctrl + Option (Mac) or Alt + Shift key (Linux)

Opera: Shift key + Esc opens a context menu listing the available access keys. These are confirmed with Enter.

b) Responsive web design

Thanks to its responsive web design, our website is optimised for a wide range of output devices (mobile phones, tablets, desktop computers). The content elements (e.g. images, page layout, size) are automatically optimised for the best possible readability and adapted to the respective display size.

c) Operation using the keyboard

The main menu can be operated using the keyboard (up, down, right and left arrows). The image gallery (lightbox) can be closed using ESC. For accommodation, restaurants, tours, attractions, etc., the tabs and accordions can be opened and closed using the tab and enter keys.

d) Searching for accommodation

Please note that it may take longer to load when searching for available accommodation for a specific period. Various accommodation providers are queried here. Accommodation can be filtered according to various criteria. There is no "Submit" button here. The accommodation data is automatically reloaded here.

2. Status of compliance with requirements

These websites and mobile applications are partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 – AA and the accessibility requirements according to DIN EN 301 549 V2.1.2, edition 2018-08, due to the following incompatibilities/exceptions.

3. Non-accessible/partially accessible content

The content listed below is not accessible or only partially accessible for the following reasons:

a) Incompatibility / disproportionate burden

  • PDF and Word documents (especially older documents) used on the websites are not accessible. If you require content from one of our PDF or Word documents, please contact us. We will endeavour to provide you with the information in another format.
  • The videos used on our websites are currently not accessible. Adapting them would constitute a disproportionate burden in terms of accessibility regulations. We are endeavouring to make the videos accessible as soon as possible.
  • All images should be accessible to screen reader users via alternative text. If, in exceptional cases, an image is not described with alternative text and the content is therefore only partially accessible, please let us know.
  • We strive to write our texts largely without abbreviations and foreign words. We also avoid complicated sentence structures. If you find a text difficult to understand and therefore only partially accessible, please contact us. We will endeavour to provide you with an easily understandable version.
  • Lists such as accommodation lists, event lists, restaurant lists, POI lists, offer lists, location and region lists, and report lists are based on structured data from TOURDATA and are currently only partially accessible. If a website user uses a filter function to restrict a list, the contents of the results are automatically reloaded (using the AJAX function). This poses a problem for people with visual impairments who use screen readers. Screen readers do not notice changes to content that has already been read. Improvements to our lists are planned for 2021.

b) The content does not fall within the scope of the applicable legal provisions.

  • Recorded time-based media, such as video and audio media, published before 23 September 2020.
  • Interactive maps are currently not accessible. Given the current technical possibilities, making these maps accessible would require a disproportionate amount of effort.
  • Third-party content: Our websites are partly based on content from a decentralised tourism database. Our content partners are required to provide texts and media in an accessible format. However, we cannot make any statements regarding the compatibility of this third-party content with accessibility regulations.

c) Other information

  • Spam protection / Recaptcha: We require a "Re-Captcha" function for our contact forms to protect against spam and mass emails. This function is not accessible. If you are unable to use a form due to this function, please send us an email at info(at)muehlviertel.at or call us on +43 5/07263-100.

4. Questions and suggestions

The Mühlviertel Tourism Association attaches great importance to the ongoing adaptation and optimisation of its websites and mobile applications. If you have any questions about how to use the website or suggestions regarding its content, please send an email to: info(at)muehlviertel.at.

We will review your request and notify you of the outcome and any measures taken or planned within two months. Requests regarding the content of websites and mobile applications that are exempt from the obligation to comply with accessibility requirements and are not accessible will also be answered within two months.

5. Enforcement proceedings
